Why Should I join BSAC?
There are several reasons why our members recommend joining BSAC.
BSAC is good for your resume. It shows that you are an involved leader in your community and that you know how to handle responsibility. You will have the opportunity to earn a badge in civics and Social Emotional Learning competencies.
BSAC will prepare you for future jobs and give you skills such as public speaking, communication, team-building, and many more. You will deal with important issues and gain an understanding of what it takes to make things happen.
Most importantly, you will help your communities. BSAC will give you a means to voice your opinion, and that of all BPS students. While working with BSAC you will see how much good you can do for those around you.
You will be part of a family. BSAC is not only a group of like-minded people coming together to work for what they believe in, it is also a support system. You will develop close relationships with your peers and the staff. We understand that life can be challenging and we try to make it easier for each other by supporting one another.
Your first meeting at BSAC may be a bit overwhelming. Students and staff will be talking quickly about issues and you may hear words and names that don’t make sense. Don’t panic. This is normal. We don’t expect you to know anything. We will try to explain things as we go along, but if you don’t understand something or if we forget to explain, just ask us! We love teaching new people about the issues that stir our passions. We try to start each meeting with an activity that helps people get focused and learn more about each other.
